Pueblo Dog Show

It was dog show time today. We were up and off to Pueblo at 8am. In true Dew dog show style, we gave him a brush and were off. None of that fancy bath wash crap.

What totally cracks us up is that we have not really worked with Deacs when it comes to the show ring. How could we? We have no clue what is going on. We met up with Celeste, his breeder, than did a little work and it was soon time to enter the ring.

Today was a big day because Deacon is no longer in the puppy class. In the puppy class (6mo-12mo), they are more forgiving....like when the judge looks at his teeth and he whips his face in the other direction. Or, when they grab his "parts" and he tries to sit down on the judge's hand.

Well, today, Deac did great. He didn't mind the judge 'feeling him up' and happily wagged his tail as they made it around the ring. He was sure everyone around the ring was there to pet him, so he was a little distracted by all his admirers. He went up against another 12 mo male who has beat him in the past, but NOT today! Today, Deacs walked away with the Blue ribbon.

What proud parents we were. I think Brian startled the quiet crowd when he started clapping and hooting!

Deacon, and his brother, Justice, after the show....bored, perhaps?
