90 Years Young

2.27.09 marked Granny's 90th Birthday. Not an easy feat, that is for sure!

We started the celebration with lunch at The Broadmoor:

After a long lunch, we took Granny home and we all moved onto the next phase of the birthday, which was a surprise party! We held it at a room in her retirement community. As a sidenote, when we were walking in a memorial service was just letting out and a ambulance was there taking away an old lady. Jack surveyed the scene, and out of his mouth came "I don't know about you guys, but does this seem weird?" Of course, Nik and I burst out laughing.

Much wine was shared, a pianist played us through dinner, The Sweet Adalein's came to serenade Granny, one of my aunt's read from Granny's baby book, and many stories were shared.

I think it's pretty amazing she is 90 and still living a large life. Granny was just in Vegas and danced the night away at one of my cousin's wedding. And for those of you at our wedding, she held center court there too!

Granny said the only thing she would have changed about last night was that she wished Unkie had been there...me too.

Hard day at the office

My office was Winter Park on Friday. My entire office traveled to Winter Park for a day of snowmobiling. It was so much fun! The day was beautiful, the views were incredible, and I spent a lot of the day be thankful that I live in such a beautiful place.

I so wish Brian could have been with me.

The baby hammer has been dropped!

After weeks of late night conversations, tears of frustration, sleepless nights, and more blood draws that I can count, Brian and I have officially decided to proceed with IVF. We met with our RE today, and asked him to begin the paperwork.

I still cannot believe this is the path we are on, and the anxiety and worry is tremendous. The What If's can drive you insane. But our RE has enough confidence for the 3 of us...I guess you need that in this kind of situation.

The short term plan is going back on BCP for 2 months so they can do the various ultrasounds and testing. In 2 weeks we go back to meet with the nurses to learn about the meds and shots. We expect to do the procedure in late April/early May.

There is a silver lining....I am going to have one helluva of a last hoorah- our Outerbanks trip in mid April! My sis, Nik, was VERY worried I would be pregnant and be a "buzz kill", as she called it!

In all seriouness though, if I can be be selfish for a moment, I ask that you keep us in your prayers as we begin this process. I know this will be hard on Brian and I in different ways, but the outcome will be so worth it.

Valentine's and Fondue

The BDew's hosted a fondue party to celebrate Valentine's Day. You now how I love to host a party, so I was happy to turn our little dining room into a fondue loving setting.

These fun people came over:

We ate chicken, shrimp and all the fixins'. Than, the Condons broke out this daddy for the grand finale:

Everyone had a great time as we caught up on a new pregnancy, a new engagement, a new relationship and old friendships.

Earlier in the day this couple, , celebrated our own private Valentine's day. The red head was very spoiled- she got a gift cert for a mani/pedi and massage. She also got tickets to Rascal Flatts ( oh hell yea, and Jessica Simpson is opening...and yes, I love that girl). Her wonderful hubby also bought her a beautiful new straight iron to replace the one that Deacs ate. Some new perfume was in the package too. Than, there was one last gift that contained some great gifts, not appropriate for a blog :)

It was a great, love filled weekend...

Plum Creek

Here we go again...dog show time...with the world's most unprepared show dog..
Deacon struggled to say the least. I actually broke down and showed him myself on Sunday because he acted so scared on Thursday.

We are taking a break until the summer. We are obligated to show him, but if things don't shape up, we are going to beg his breeders to just let us "retire" this silly boy. If nothing else, everyone had good laughs watching this boy try to compete!

Being a couch dog is hard...

Meet Lollipop, our newest foster.

She is hilarious, and has a huge underbite. The poor thing has lived a hard life, so getting used to house living has been something she has taken very seriously. Last night, she quietly climbed on to the couch. She was cracking us up as she tried all different positions to get comfortable. These pics speak for themselves.
