Jack and His Teeth
My nephew Jack, better known as Jackey Boy to me, has begun the process of losing his teeth.
I am sad to say that I find this entire "scenario" disgusting...I hated it when my teeth were loose, and I hate it now that Jack's teeth are loose. He knows I don't like it and is always quick to get in my face and twist those little teeth around! It gives me the willies!
Anyway, last night I was talking to him and he was going on in great detail about his latest loose tooth. Here is how the end of our conversation went, the kid cracks me up
Auntie B: "Jack, you better loose that tooth before the wedding. Otherwise, I might just barf!"
Jackey Boy: "Well, Auntie B, looks like I will have to bring you a bucket!"

Special Wedding Gift
Brian and I have been on the receiving end of some incredible generosity over the last few months. At times, I feel bad that people have spent and continue to spend, so much on gifts, parties and travel to make this time so special in our lives.
My aunt, Cheryl, had us over for dinner on Friday night. She had a 4 course meal (yes, 4 delicious courses...we didn't even know people did that anymore!)waiting for us! As we were leaving, she asked us to come into her family room. She asked Bri to pull a painting off the wall. It is a water color, of a mountain scene. He turned it over and there was a beautiful note, full of wonderful well wishes for us. It turns out that Cheryl has been working on this painting for us since January. She matted it, and framed it in a gorgeous frame.
It is now hanging in our family room. It is such a special gift, something that we will have forever. The mountain scene is very appropriate, and will always remind us of our special day!
Bronco Practice
Brian and I carried on our tradition of posing as a part of the Polumbus family to receive VIP Bronco treatment...again! We went to practice this morning to support Tyler, who by the way, played great! It was super hot, and none of us were looking to hot by the time we left!
I felt bad for those poor players, in the heat and in pads! They had a few hours off, than another practice at 2:30.
No one is quite sure what Tyler's future holds with the Broncos, but we are hoping it will be the beginning of a wonderful career for him! The first preseason game is 8-9-08...which happens to the THE day, so we will be sure to Tivo it! Good luck, Ty!
Big Dogs Huge Paws Launch Party
We had the launch party for Big Dogs Huge Paws last night after months of hard work on the part of many individuals. BDHP is a new rescue, dedicated to giant breed dogs.I will be serving in the capacity of Dir. of Human Resources, which is just enough work to keep me involved, but not close to being life consuming like the last role I fulfilled.
We will be accepting our first dogs in the Fall, though the need is already there for us to take them. We raised $1400 last night, but need so much more to get BDHP to where we need to be before we can take dogs!
We are all so excited to see where this new journey takes us.

Marriage License
Brian and I went to the courthouse today to get our marriage license this morning! We are two weeks out, and I suspect two of the longest weeks of my life!
We anticipated running in and running out of the county clerk's building, but it turned out we had quite the "character" working behind the counter. Let me set the stage: the lady was probably in her mid 30's, homely looking and immediately gave off a sense of "quirkiness". When she opened her mouth to greet us, it set off a speed of speech that I had never been witness to in my life. While Brian could hardly contain his laughter, I was busy focusing on the questions being fired at me at rapid speed about my name, address, my ring, my hair, mountain dew jokes, jokes about being invitied to our wedding, my mom, offering to take a picture, computer problems....each of these questions/comments were co-mingeled with the other and with the same intonation....it was the craziest thing ever. I was actually forced to say to Brian, under my breath, " Stop talking, do not ask anymore questions!", because I was so overwhelmed.
Anyway, we finally got our license and escaped to the crazy streets of downtown Denver! Lord only knows what I am supposed to do with the stack of papers I shoved into Brian's glovebox...I told Brian I will just research it on the web because at a certain point my brain shut off, trying to save itself.
At least we have a funny story to remember our marriage license by!

Bachlorette Party
Well, I am still trying to recover from my very fun night on the town. We started at our house for coctails, than headed to Zango for dinner. There, Stephie and Sara presented me with a very beautiful penis cake, that gave everyone a good laugh...inlcuding the Grandpa sitting behind our table.
From there, we headed out to a few bars and ended the night on the dance floor at The Tavern.
I had so much fun, and feel so blessed to have such a great group of friends who are truely happy for me.

Goodbye to Blue Dew
We sadly said goodbye to our sweet, wonderful old man Blue tonight. We adopted him in April 2008 from a shelter in Alamosa. Thanks to our dear friend, Dr Winton, and her closely monitored pain regimen, we had more time with him than we thought possible.
He was a funny old dog, with a ridiculous bark that made us laugh every time we heard it. He adored Brian more than anything, and rarely left his side once he got home from work. I guess the up side is that until Bri got home, I was the apple of Blue's eye!
I am thankful we were able to rescue him from the dire situation he was in, and show him what life with a loving family should be like. I think he loved us deeply for that.
Rand came to our home to do the euthanasia because we all knew Blue hated going to strange places, and would be most comfortable here. He passed with his head resting on Brian's foot, and getting a belly rub from me. Linds was here too, so he was very loved as he left.
Ps- His cataracts make his light shine in pictures...

33 Days.....
Tyler & Liz Polumbus
We came back a few days early from Powell to celebrate the marriage of Liz and Tyler! It was held at the Omni up in Broomfield, and was a great time. Liz was beautiful, and they both were beaming the whole night. We wish Ty and Liz nothing but the best in their future!
It is surreal to think that this will be us in only a few short weeks!!
Powell '08
I am happy to report we have returned home safe and sound from yet another trip to Lake Powell! We had a great time, but we fear we may be getting too old for this crap! It is a problem our chief complaints were lack of sleep and sore backs from sleeping on the ground? Is that a sign of old age?
We had some incredible laughs...thanks to Mr Brian Dew and his usual antics that noone can quite understand!
The water was great, the new houseboat was a millions times better than the last, and Gabe's new ski boat is about the coolest thing even invented!
