Miller Thomas Dew

Our sweet son is here!

We had a scheduled c section on Monday March 17th.

We checked in at 5am and he was born at 8:02am.  This is my favorite picture...the moment where Mama meets Son- the love, the pride, the relief....there are no words.

 Miller weighed in at a hefty 8lbs, 12 oz which shocked us all since his big Sissy was only 7 lbs, 2 oz. Speaking of SJ, he looks just like her. It took my breath away.

Miller's first name came from a night of watching tv and stopping on a AFA Football game. One of the AFA players, "Miller", did something where they announced his name and I immediately asked Bri if he liked it. It is a bit unusual so we held on to it for a few months but kept going back to it.  His middle name of "Thomas" honors Brian's father who passed away when Brian was 18 months old.

 SJ loves "Milner Thomas" she calls him. Lots of love, kisses and hugs. Here is a picture of her meeting him for the first time.

38 Weeks, 6 days

When you are first pregnant and at the later stages, the "days" in your calculation of how pregnant you are really do count.  It makes you feel better, it makes you feel like you are making progress.

I never got this far with Syd. I had her at 38 weeks on the dot.  With Syd I had horrible heartburn and really bad carpal tunnel. Thankfully my heartburn with this guy is manageable and no carpal tunnel (that seriously was awful). However, the last week the pain and pressure I feel in out of control.  I am walking like a 90 year old lady and before going anywhere think through how far I will have to walk and if it's worth it! Nights are the worst. I am bent over, deep breathing through the pain while Brian and Syd just stare at me.

We spent a little time in L&D on Sunday after I couldn't get him to move, regardless of what I tried. Everything was fine but it is always a little unsettling. Brian called it "Our Dry Run".  I went in for my weekly appt on Tuesday and again, he was hard to find on the monitor so I got a full ultrasound. He is breech (again) and the Tech was nice enough to flip on the 3D and we got a few great pics. This is one of them that brought tears to my eyes because it looks so much like Syd's 3D. It made it real. I am so anxious to see what he looks like in "real life".

My blood pressure was a little high so they ran some bloodworm as a precaution. Everything looked normal but they are having me come in tomorrow before we head into the weekend just to make sure there aren't any dramatic changes.

If all is normal tomorrow, than we are set to deliver on Monday....3 days away. It is so surreal.

I am equal parts excited & equal parts terrified!!

Maternity Leave (37 Weeks)

I am officially on Maternity Leave...2 weeks before Baby Boy is here. It is glorious.

My first day off, poor Punk had to have ear tubes put in. She did awesome and only had a bad 10 minutes of waking up out of anesthesia. She bounced back and was her wild self by that evening. Nothing can be worse than the chronic ear infections she has had! I'm to going to lie it was a little nerve wracking to hand my precious girl off to strangers and had to choke back tears more than once...tho I will blame that on pregnancy hormones.

Brian and I celebrated the start of my leave with dinner at Sullivans Steakhouse during Restaurant Week. Delicious dinner and nice to get out with just the two of us.

Now we sit and wait.  C Section is scheduled for Monday March 17th and I hope we make it that long. I am mentally prepared for the 17th and have one helluva cute St Patty's Day hat that will make for great newborn photos so I hope he cooperates.

I cannot wait to meet this boy!!!!

35 Weeks down, 4 to go

Less than 4 weeks...he will be here. I am still in literal shock I am pregnant. This growing belly and my lack of sleep is proof he is coming. I.am.so.excited!

Valentine's Day 2014

We had a family Valentine's Day dinner on Friday night. Brian came home with Chocolate Covered Strawberries for me and a Cupcake for Syd. 

Syd went to Grandma's on Sunday for a few days to spend time in Colorado Springs so we did our VDay Date Night last night- at Bara Sushi. Seriously.So.Good. Even a hacking cough couldn't keep me down.  Not that we don't love the antics of our Punky, it was equally nice to sit in peace, enjoy some drinks (i.e. watch Brian drink wine) and slowly eat our food instead of plowing through it in fear of a 2 yr old meltdown.

Sickness

Sickness is upon us.  It came in and took up residence with poor Punky who wanted nothing more than her Mama for 3 days. And right when she was feeling better, all hell broke loose in Mama's body...which let me tell you is AWESOME when you are 8.5 months pregnant!  Here's hoping double ear infection leave our house soon!

Baby Sprinkle- 32 Weeks

 Lisa hosted a "Sprinkle" for me last week. Just a small gathering to celebrate this little boy!

I am now on weekly doctor visits because the little man doesn't move and shake as much as he should. All is well but since I don't feel him as much as they would like, I get to go in every week (not that I mind in the least!).

I officially have 17 work days left, not that I am counting.

We are getting so close but yet it seems so far away :)
